09 October 2010	South Plains Add Jamaican Stamina to its Line-up 5 By Jamaica’s middle-distance runners Kemoy Campbell and Natoya Goule are settling down at their new address: South Plains College in Texas. Campbell and Goule, both 19 years old, are established runners in the Caribbean region, at the junior level, and both have amassed numerous medals at the CARIFTAGames Campbell with a personal best 3:42.57 (1500m) and 8:44.72 (3,000m) was heavily recruited by numerous colleges in the US before he selected South Plains. Goule has a personal best 54.03 in the 400m and 2:03.52 in the 800m. Both Campbell and Goule join the Texan, a team that is loaded with talent, and they should feel right at home as the Texan roster has several Caribbean athletes. Caribbean Tracklife Magazine (CTL) caught up with Blaine Wiley, the associate head coach for the Texan.
05 February 2011	James, Goule, Henry Sparkles at US Meets 5 By University of Alabama (UAB) and Grenada native Kirani James ran the fastest 400m in the world at the Meyo Invitational Meet in Indiana yesterday, stopping the clock in a brisk 45.47 secs. The Gouyave native in only his second year at UAB has been in fine form recently running 20.58 secs in the 200m two weeks ago. James with a lifetime best 45.03 secs (outdoors) has now qualified for the NCCA Indoor Championship to be held in March 2011 and has positioned himself as one of the early favorites for the 200m and 400m titles. 26 February 2011	Jamaica's Trisha-Ann Hawthorne 5 By courtesy of UConnUniversity of Connecticut (Uconn) senior Trisha-Ann Hawthorne continues her sprinting dominance in the Big East Conference by capturing the 60m (7.26) and 200m (23.86) titles at the Big East Indoor Championships at Akron Ohio over the weekend. She led her team to a second place finish (108.5 points) behind winner University of Louisville (110 points). 07 March 2011	Record-setting Day at NJCAA Champs for Levy, Goule 5 By Levy The Jamaican duo of Jura Levy and Natoya Goule set national records in their respective events to lead the South Plains College Lady Texans to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) indoor title at Texas Tech University on March 4 & 5. The Lady Texans easily won the title with 180.5 points, ahead of Central Arizona (88 points). Levy, the Vere Technical high school (Jamaica) graduate, captured the 200m title in a record time of 23.10secs, and clocked 6.81secs to defend her 55m title. 06 April 2011	Outstanding Performances at NCAA Weekend Meets 5 By The reigning Jamaica 400m hurdles champion Leford Green, representing Johnson C. Smith University (JCSU) in the US, captured both the open 400m (46.43) and the 400m hurdles (50.17) at the 2011 Tiger Track Classic on the campus of the University of Auburn over the weekend (Apr. 2). Green also teamed up with fellow countrymen Winston Brown and Akino Ming along with Gabriel Franklin to anchor the JCSU 4x4 team to victory in 3:10.61. Green with a personal best 45.56 in the open 400m and 48.47 in the 400 hurdles is the 2011 Division II National Indoor Track Athlete of the Year. Shermaine Williams of JCSU won the 100m hurdles in 13.40secs ahead of Jamaican Kim Laing (13.53) of the University of Alabama. Meanwhile, the Bahamian duo of Sheniqua Ferguson and Nivea Smith joined Trinidad’s Kia Selvon and USA’s Joanna Atkins to win both the 4x1 (43.80) and 4x4 (3.38.82) relays.
