Briana Williams set for a busy 2019 season

Seventeen-year-old sprinting sensation Briana Williams is set to have a busy summer as she released her schedule for June and July. The Florida-based Williams posted impressive performances at the CARIFTA Games held in the Cayman Island last month (April 20-23), where she won three gold medals. Williams posted victories in the 100m (11.25 seconds), 200m (22.89 seconds) and ran a leg on the Jamaica winning 4x100 relay team. For her exploits, Briana was named the top female performer and was awarded the Austin Sealy Trophy.

The Ato-Boldin coached-Williams is embarking on a well-balanced schedule that is tailored to have her peaking at the right time.

Will tackle sprint double at Jamaican Senior Championship

Williams is schedule to compete in both the 100m and 200m at the Jacksonville Open (Florida) on June 1, A week later, on June 8 she will again tackle the sprint double at the Great Southwest Classic (New Mexico). After a two-week break, Briana will then compete in the sprint double (100m/200m) at the Jamaican Senior Championships on June 20-23. William could book her ticket to the World Championship in Doha, Qatar if she finishes in the top-three in her event (s).

A week later, on June 30, William will compete in the 100m at the Prefontaine Classics to sharpen her skills before hunting more hardware at the NACAC Under 18 Championships set for Queretaro, Mexico for July 5-7, 2019. Two weeks later, Williams will step-up in class to complete in the 100m at the 2019 Pan Am Under-20 Championships, set for San Jose, Costa Rica from July 19-21, 2019.
