Bolt, Blake and Weir in 200m Final Showdown

Jamaica’s Usain Bolt, Yohan Blake and Warren Weir are set to contest the men’s 200m final tomorrow in London. Bolt won his semi-final race in 20.18 seconds. Bolt  jogged  the last 80m of the race while looking around. Blake built a huge lead coming into the home stretch and cruised to victory in 20.01 seconds ahead of American Spearmon (20.02) and Frenchman Christophe Lemaitre (20.03). Blake who seems more concerned about qualifying for the finals decelerated badly during the last 15 meters allowing Spearmon and the rest of the field to catch-up. Weir ran a very controlled race and had a brief duel with the Netherland’s Churandy Martina before settling for 2nd. Martina won the event in 20.17 seconds while Weir was second in 20.28. The 200m final is now set to be another epic battle between  Bolt and Blake.  Bolt is the world record-holder with a time of 19.19 seconds while Blake has a lifetime best 19.26 seconds which is the second fastest time in history. Bolt has a 2012 season best 19.76 seconds while Blake has a season best 19.80 seconds. The 200m is Bolt favorite event and he has been beaten only once in the past 4 years.
