Fraser-Pryce denied the sprint double by Felix

Olympic 100m champion, Jamaica’s Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce was denied the opportunity to complete the sprint double by American Allyson Felix. Felix won the women’s 200m in a time of 21.88 seconds ahead of Fraser-Pryce (22.09) and Carmelita Jeter (22.14). Fraser-Pryce time of 22.09 is a lifetime best surpassing the 22.10 seconds she ran at the Jamaican Trials. Fraser-Pryce did not run particularly good curve and had to dig deep to stay in the hunt, but was unable to catch Felix. After the race, Fraser-Pryce seemed satisfied with her performance as she smiled and waved the Jamaican flag. Earning a sliver in the 200m is quite an achievement for Fraser-Pryce who has voiced her dislike for the 200m. This is  Fraser-Pryce's first year contesting  the 200m at a major championship, and with more training Fraser-Pryce can certainly surpass her lifetime best of  22.09 seconds.  The future certainly looks bright for Fraser-Pryce in the 200m.
