Villanova Repeat in Women's DMR at Penn

PHILADELPHIA - In front of 23,310 fans, Villanova rallied for its second consecutive women's college Distance Medley Relay Championship of America win in a row -- and 12th overall -- as the Wildcats erased a deficit after the second leg with a blistering 800m third leg and cruised to victory in front of 'Nova Nation.
In the field, Emily Savage from Weston (CT) High School set a new Penn Relays record in the High School Girls' Pole Vault with a winning vault of 4.00 (13-1.5 inches) to break the old mark of 3.98m (13-0.75) set in 2008 by Abigail Schaffer when competing at Easton Area (PA) High School.
Samantha Elliot from Johnson C. Smith College in Charlotte, N.C. won the first event of the 2013 Penn Relays with a winning time of 57.64 in the College Women's 400m hurdles. Lindbolm (IL) High School's Shamier Little won the High School Girls' 400m Hurdles.
