07 March 2011	Record-setting Day at NJCAA Champs for Levy, Goule 265 By Levy The Jamaican duo of Jura Levy and Natoya Goule set national records in their respective events to lead the South Plains College Lady Texans to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) indoor title at Texas Tech University on March 4 & 5. The Lady Texans easily won the title with 180.5 points, ahead of Central Arizona (88 points). Levy, the Vere Technical high school (Jamaica) graduate, captured the 200m title in a record time of 23.10secs, and clocked 6.81secs to defend her 55m title. 06 April 2011	Outstanding Performances at NCAA Weekend Meets 265 By The reigning Jamaica 400m hurdles champion Leford Green, representing Johnson C. Smith University (JCSU) in the US, captured both the open 400m (46.43) and the 400m hurdles (50.17) at the 2011 Tiger Track Classic on the campus of the University of Auburn over the weekend (Apr. 2). Green also teamed up with fellow countrymen Winston Brown and Akino Ming along with Gabriel Franklin to anchor the JCSU 4x4 team to victory in 3:10.61. Green with a personal best 45.56 in the open 400m and 48.47 in the 400 hurdles is the 2011 Division II National Indoor Track Athlete of the Year. Shermaine Williams of JCSU won the 100m hurdles in 13.40secs ahead of Jamaican Kim Laing (13.53) of the University of Alabama. Meanwhile, the Bahamian duo of Sheniqua Ferguson and Nivea Smith joined Trinidad’s Kia Selvon and USA’s Joanna Atkins to win both the 4x1 (43.80) and 4x4 (3.38.82) relays.
16 April 2011	A Stronger, Leaner Gavyn Nero Has London on His Mind 265 By His accomplishments at the junior level are unmatched. With 11 individual medals at the Carifta Games, highlighted by a personal best 3 minutes, 46.57 seconds in the 1500m and numerous mid-distance duels with some of the Caribbean region’s best junior runners, Trinidad and Tobago’s Gavyn Nero is perhaps the most decorated athlete to compete in the Games. In the summer of 2009, Gavyn – just out of high school and prior to starting classes at Baylor University in the US – competed in the CAC Games where he placed 3rd in the 800m in a personal best 1:47.51. He then strode into Baylor as one of the best junior mid-distance athletes to have come out of the Caribbean. And expectations were high for track fans, especially Trinidadians. 14 May 2011	Crimson Tide's Dwayne Extol on Road to Recovery 265 By At the prestigious 2010 Jamaica Boys and Girls Athletics Championships or “Champs 100”, Dwayne Extol lead his high school team, Wolmer’s Boys, to victory. The versatile Extol was instrumental in giving his team valuable points by competing in the 200m, 400m, 400m hurdles and the 4x1 and 4x4 relays. He will be remembered as the team captain who could have won gold in the 200m but eased up close to the line to allow teammate Julian Forte, who had earlier won the 100m title, to claim the sprint double. Extol later explained his decision to the media: "Julian had a problem with his hamstring and I could see he really wanted to win and I saw him pushing and pushing and I decided that we would still get the 16 points if I won or he won."
06 June 2011	7 Questions as the NCAA Championships Begin 265 By As the 2011 NCAA Track & Field Championship in Des Moines, Iowa starts today, June 8, there are several intriguing questions floating around that will be answered when the dust settles on Saturday evening, the 11th.
